An opportunity exists for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work with a specific named pupil, covering the maternity leave of a permanent member of staff.  The contract is due to end on 31st December 2025.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and nurturing Teaching Assistant to support a child with their learning and helping to develop confidence and communication skills. The post will also include 30 minutes to support the pupil during the lunchtime period.

About this role:

Do you want to work in a happy and friendly school where helping children to thrive is central to the work of the school? If so, come and join our team as a Teaching Assistant!

This specific role will initially be based at the Infant site in Church Lane and moving to the Junior site in Hawthorn Road from September 2025 as the child progresses through the school.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to build good working relationships, be organised, enjoy working with children and "making a difference."

Good literacy and numeracy skills will also be essential in order to confidently support pupils in their learning when clarifying and explaining learning. Being sensitive to different needs and personalities, demonstrating empathy and warmth and being aware of the emotional needs of children would be highly beneficial.

The successful candidate would work under the instruction and guidance of teaching and senior staff to undertake support programmes for a child with an EHCP.  Work may be carried out 1-1 with the child with the EHCP and at times you may also be required to assist other children.

We offer friendly, supportive staff as well as a working environment where staff can enjoy the excitement of learning!  There will be mentoring support available to the successful candidate so don't delay - take a step towards this rewarding opportunity in our great school today!
