Highfield Achieve GOLD School Games Award

We are delighted to announce that we, Highfield Church of England School, have achieved the School Games GOLD Mark Award for the 2023/24 academic year.

The School Games Mark is a Government-led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community, and we are delighted to have been recognised for our success.

Our sporting achievements this year include:

- 2nd place in the 3/4 dodgeball tournament

- Winning the Autumn term boys football league

- 1st place upper school table tennis team

- 3rd place upper school table tennis team

- 1st place at the Southampton Schools hockey tournament (year 6 team)

- 3rd place at the Southampton Schools hockey tournament (year 5 team) - 1st place at the Hampshire County hockey finals

- 2 girls representing the Southampton cross-country team

- 1st place boys team at the March Hare relay

- 2nd place in the spring boys cross country league (year 5/6)

- 3rd place in the spring girls cross country league (year 3/4)

- 1st place overall finish at the upper school swimming gala

- 1st place boys team at the upper school swimming gala

- 1st place girls team at the upper school swimming gala

- 1st place year 5 team at the upper school swimming gala

- 2nd place year 6 team at the upper school swimming gala

- 1st place girls team at City Athletics 2024

- Girls upper school football team cup finalists

- Finalists in the Buzz Cup football tournament

 

With a total of young people competing in local inter-school competitions this year, we are extremely proud of our pupils for their dedication to all aspects of school sport, including those young volunteers, leaders and officials who made our competitions possible.
