Outdoor learning day

Outdoor day this week was so much fun. We spent the morning walking around the "secret" Valley Gardens at the University of Southampton. It was interesting to forage for Winter items such as dead leaves and focus on their 'skeletons'. The pupils made foraged Winter crowns, listened to stories about nature and sketched insects, birds and clouds. When we were back at school we drew around our shadows with chalk in the playground to see how they changed as the day/ time progressed.  Our photo here is our seeded paper too. We made a natural glue out of flour and water and hope to lay these seeded sheets on soil in our gardens at home!
