Evacuation Day

The children had a great day experiencing life as an evacuee. They all had to choose only 5 items to bring with them to their new home, so they had to think really hard about what was important to them. They then wrote a postcard to a family member who stayed in the city while they were in the countryside. Finally, they thought about how Christmas would have been celebrated differently for evacuees, and they made some Christmas decorations with the rations that children would have had access to!
