This week in geography, the children have been so resilient with applying their cartography skills to some new and slightly different maps! They have been looking at different foods that they may find in the cupboards at home, and looking at where the food has been imported from. It has been a wonderful opportunity to make links back to the children’s work on trade and climate from previous years, and even hearing some of the children’s own experiences of how they have grown their own food at home! They then looked at cartograms to see how the worlds uses of resources is not equal between all of the continents. As always, the children were reciprocal when working with one another and super reflective when thinking about the distribution of resources around the world.
