Our year 5/6 PE topic this half term is focused all around ‘jumping’. The children have already explored what they know already about jumping and how it links to the sports they play both inside and out of school. The children have spent some time in groups experimenting with different types and styles of jumps, to understand the key body movements involved within this. Our second lesson saw us creating mini assault causes in the hall, and putting the key movements to the test! The children were jumping over hurdles, onto gymnastic horses and even working reciprocally to add a jump and catch as well! Next lesson we will be looking at jumping in a sporting context, which will involve creating our own games!
