Year 5/6 have had a brilliant week starting our new geography topic. This term, we will be looking at rivers and coasts as part of our topic, and began the half term by looking at what we know already about rivers and brushing up on our cartography skills! We began by re-capping what we know already about the water cycle, then looked at the part that rivers play within this. We have already began collecting lots of great vocabulary to use within our future lessons, which are up on our topic learning walls. We finished the lessons by finding the larger rivers within the UK and then the world, which required a lot of resilience and reciprocity! It was a great introduction to our new topic, and the children are very excited to find out more about the features of the river in preparation for our topic case study!
