In school today the children were greeted with an art challenge! Our topic this term has been lifecycles, and it was their task today to create a diorama of an animals life cycle that they had studied this term. The children put themselves into groups and began to plan and organise their ideas and used their sketching skills to get their Once they had gathered their ideas they were in charge of planning what their final diorama would look like, what materials they would need and how to decorate. Then they got started! The groups spent the first part of the morning designing, collecting and organising themselves together demonstrating excellent teamwork. As a class, we then looked at using modrock to create our creatures. The teachers were so impressed with the children’s attention to detail and creativity to use the modrock in a range of ways. We have seen cliff edges, forest scenes and even snow with footprints! Throughout the day the children organised themselves really well in their groups. Each child was always given a task to do and they all worked superbly to create their dioramas.
