The year 6s these past few lessons have been looking at using their mathematical knowledge to solve problems with BODMAS! It is the first time the classes have seen this method, and they have all been so resilient and reflective at showing their workings and using their mental knowledge to solve a range of challenging problems! Our final lesson on the topic today was linked to problem solving. Children had to randomly pick 6 numbers (a mix of two digit and one digit), and then use these numbers and their BODMAS knowledge to try to create a random number the teacher set. It was a fantastic way for children to talk about the numbers they had, and try a range of methods to try to find the answer. Despite the chilly Thursday morning weather, the children were brilliant and really enjoyed the task!
