In North America this week we have started our MOOT Projects. MOOT stands for Managing Our Own Time. The title for this term’s project is ‘Inventors/Inventions’. The aim of MOOT is to help build up our independent learning muscles!
In the first few weeks we have to use a variety of resources (including iPads and books) to research about our own chosen area. During this research time we need to make effective notes to help us with our writing at a later in the project.
There are many BLP skills we will be developing throughout this MOOT project, including our ability to become absorbed in a task, detailed and purposeful planning and being resourceful in how we find and present information.
One way that would definitely help our success would be through support and guidance from parents, perhaps in helping to locate information from a library, or to provide time to research at home.
Watch this space to see how our projects are going!
