In Australasia we have been investigating the concept of ‘Holy’. First, we looked at different images of Mary and had a fascinating discussion about the way that she is portrayed in the paintings. In particular we spent time responding to the question, “What might Mary have been like based on the artist’s interpretation?”
After this, we were given the task of creating our own images of Mary. We had free choice of the media we could use, including charcoal, paint, pastels, etc. It was important that whatever our image of Mary looked like, we could explain how we wanted to represent her, and what it might tell us about what Mary was like. We hope your enjoy looking at a sample of our artwork!
