Christmas Music

As we approach the Christmas holidays, we can look back on what has been a hectic few weeks full of singing and music making.
Choirs from both the infants and juniors (headed up by Mrs White and Mrs Hickox) took part in this year’s SSMA Guildhall Concerts. Managing to learn all the words, sing so angelically and look so alert despite the late nights, was an impressive feat on the children’s part!
Almost immediately after, both departments excelled themselves with their Christmas performances in church, with solos, rounds and 2 & 3 part harmonies all sounding beautiful.
On the last Wednesday of term, there was an end of term concert to parents featuring the orchestra, string ensemble and newly formed brass band. To quote a member of the audience; “They were absolutely fantastic!!!”
Mrs Hastings’ Singing Club and Band visited the Poplars Care Home on the penultimate day of term, entertaining the residents with carols and Christmas songs.
Congratulations to all the children who took part in the various performances and to the staff who supported them.
