On Wednesday the 13th January, all the upper school classes went into the hall to make sushi. We learnt that sushi is a rice dish that comes from Japan and that its main filling is raw fish, such as tuna, salmon, prawn and white bait.
Then, we were put into groups of 3, and then put onto a table, which we shared with another group. We were given a sheet of dry seaweed. After that, we covered the seaweed with some vinegar rice. Subsequently, we cut 2 pieces of cucumber each, and placed them on the rice. Finally, we rolled the sushi up, and cut the ends off.
Everyone was proud of their successful work, even if not everyone was too keen on the taste!
