It has been a great start to the week today with a fun afternoon of Art. The children have studied and sketched examples of Greek pots looking closely at their bold detail. They really worked their ‘noticing’ learning muscle as they worked hard to replicate the intricate details of the paintings on the pots.
Later in the afternoon we created miniature pots from clay. First we made the clay into a ball and used out thumbs to first create a hole and then pushed the out to sculpt the pot. Later we added a base and handles testing out various methods to add on these fiddly details. Hopefully the handles and rim will survive the drying process!
