For this afternoon only, North America Class were lucky enough to have the opportunity to look at a fantastic collection of fossils. The children were particularly interested by the woolly mammoth molar, megalodon tooth and the whale ear bone! Apparently, “megladon’s are epic!”
The children worked really hard with their noticing and applied knowledge from all areas of other curriculum- who knew our teeth and healthy eating topic would come in handy when looking at fossils. The children learnt about the process of fossilisation, made observational drawings and created fact files for the fossils and the creatures they have come from. A great first afternoon back from the half term holidays. Thank you Gemma Walters from Natural Selection Learning for lending us all the lovely resources.
