In Africa Base we have been learning balance and control for P.E.
We have been putting together sequences of balances, joined together by movements such as rolls, jumps, slides and turns.
The most challenging thing about this type of balancing, is that you have to use another person’s weight to counter-balance.
This is fine once you’re in the right position, but getting into that position in the first place is very tricky!
You have to move very slowly. You may need lots of attempts before you get it right!
Balance helps to build up your control and core body strength. It’s also very calming, when you get it right!
