This week, we have been learning how to use six figure references on a computer map, and now we are creating a larger map on paper! It’s a map of all the bombing spots near Highfield between the 30th of November and the 1st of December. First, we used our understanding of grid references to build up the whole map out of little pieces, a bit like a jigsaw puzzle. Next, we took a map piece each and scaled the picture up onto a 20cm x 20cm sheet of paper. We really had to collaborate well with each other, to make sure our large map pieces all joined up together! To colour the map, we cut out squares of paper and glued them down, like a collage. We haven’t quite finished yet, but it should look amazing once it’s finished!
