Celebrating the children

They say that “First impressions count” so it was lovely that a new member of staff joining the lunchtime team commented today on the good manners of the children. Her actual comment was “I have never been in a school where the children are so well-behaved and polite! This is a lovely school.”
As we start a new year, it would seem important to celebrate all of the things that matter. Manners do not cost anything but they mean a lot. We have a lot to celebrate at Highfield and are privileged to be part of the journey in educating the children. It reminded me that while “Manners” are not listed in the national curriculum, they form part of our vision that the children develop good interpersonal skills in a happy environment. Parents are part of that education so thank you for instilling these important character traits!
