Book Week – Letters from Santa

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Did you know the Tolkien children received letters from Father Christmas every year? In each of his letters, Father Christmas told the children stories about his right hand bear, the Polar Bear, who helped/hindered him during the year. On one occasion Polar Bear inadvertently left the Northern Lights on for two whole years! We have had great fund reading some of the letters and looking at the accompanying artwork. In one of the letters it mentions the cellars of Father Christmas’ house so we have created designs for what the cellar might include as he must have to have a lot of things to store!
Also we enjoyed looking at people’s story sacks. Well done everyone for gathering clues to hint at their favorite stories. We have included pictures of Ben’s favorite story – can you guess what it is?
